Ignore the Feinstein bill. It will never pass and it is not meant to pass. It is what one Capitol Hill operator described to me as "the shiny object" a magician uses to distract the audience. Ignore the cloud of glitter and follow the hand that reaches under the table. The left will cave on its ambitious goal of ridding the country of military-style long guns in exchange for what it really wants: A national registry of guns and gun owners with a big, giant switch that the government it controls can throw at any time to slow down gun transfers--or shut it down.
